Servant Leader Scholars Program

Preparing today's college students to be the world's next industry and community leaders

OVERVIEW


The Servant Leader Scholars program is a 6-month development track designed to prepare historically underrepresented college students within Georgia for careers in the tech industry, while inspiring them to become active leaders of service in their communities.

Offering professional and personal development, networking opportunities, mentorship, service learning, and career preparation, our program connects students with the resources they need to both succeed and lead. Alongside a cohort of other service-minded Georgia students, each scholar will be guided through our unique curriculum, tailored specifically to the needs and experiences of underrepresented groups in business and tech industries.

Pour back into your community through active service learning.
  • Learn about community issues and the impacts of service organizations in Atlanta dedicated to alleviating local issues
  • Discover how to sustainably contribute within your community
  • Actively serve the community by participating in the 2024 Annual SLS Day of Service
  • Work with your cohort to design a proposal and project plan for the 2024 Annual SLS Day of Service, demonstrating and learning necessary skills for collaboration and impactful project implementation. 
Learn & grow with your cohort.
  • Attend development workshops centered around topics such as self-promotion, leveraging your strengths, and finding your purpose.
  • Participate in group coaching sessions led by a Business Success Coach for companies such as Google and Apple. Scholars will explore and discuss numerous topics such as navigating professional spaces as a person of color, leading peers, and goal setting.
  • Receive personal guidance through mentorship from our SLS leadership team 
Prepare for your future career in business or technology
  • Establish direction for your career in tech, as we explore industry roles and early career opportunities that guide you to them.
  • Become a more competitive candidate for internships in your field, by leveraging the program’s free access to in-demand career prep certifications, 1-to-1 interview training , resume tailoring, and more.
  • Receive personalized, professional guidance through 1-to-1 mentorship from a career leader hand-picked to best-suit your career path.

PROGRAM GOALS
SLS Eligibility Criteria
  • Rising college sophomore or junior in the state of Georgia enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s degree program (Class of 2026 or Class of 2027)
  • Identify as a member of a historically underrepresented groups in both business and technical roles in the technology industry (i.e. Black, Hispanic, Native American, etc.)
  • Major in the field of business (finance, business management, etc.)  OR technology (computer science, M.I.S., cybersecurity, etc.)
  • Exhibit academic achievement and servant leadership 
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
A Servant Leader Scholar candidate must meet the qualifications below.

Fall 2024

  • Industry Mentor Check-Ins (2)
  • SLS Mentor Check-Ins (2)

All selected scholars are required to attend each program event in its intended mode, whether it be in-person or virtual.

  • Virtual Group Coaching Sessions (2)
  • 2024 Annual Day of Service
  • End of Summer Banquet
All selected scholars are required to attend each program event in its intended mode, whether it be hybrid or virtual.
SCHOLAR COMMITMENT
Scholars are paid a $500 stipend as part of partaking in the program to help aid with any expenses.
