Kevin Nwogu is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Class of 2022, currently working at Google as a YouTube Product Support Consultant. He also completed Google’s BOLD gTech Internship in 2021.
Throughout his time at the University of Georgia, Kevin developed a deep passion for mentorship and philanthropy. He found joy in helping students at the university find their way and sense of belonging, even serving as an Orientation Leader for incoming students. “I have a strong belief that it is necessary to pour back into places or people that have poured into you", said Nwogu.
His desire to empower others to fulfill their goals and dreams helped sparked his decision to create the Servant Leader Scholarship, originally for his alma mater Stephenson High School - a school full of faculty, staff, and peers that supported him in his endeavors from cross country to photography and videography. “I believe this whole-hearted support had a great impact on me, motivating me to work harder and constantly challenge myself to go further”, said Nwogu.
Servant leadership is the leadership style Nwogu most closely identifies with, hence the name of the program. This style of leadership prioritizes serving others and focuses on enriching the lives of other individuals.
Nwogu's hope is that this program will inspire students to continue their journey towards higher education, reduce barriers of access to resources and opportunities for people of color, and serve as a reminder for us all to pour back into the communities that have helped us get to where we are now.

Najma Noor is a fourth-year Computer Science major at the Georgia Institute of Technology set to graduate in May 2024. Following graduation, Najma will be joining CapTech Consulting full-time as a Software Engineer Consultant.
During her academic journey at Georgia Tech, Najma became an active member on campus. As a first-generation Somali-American, she recognized the significance of belonging to a community with people who looked like her and the need to diversify the industry. This realization led her to take on the role of Vice President of the Georgia Tech chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (GTSBE ). In this position, she applies her communication and organizational skills to guide her chapter towards fulfilling its mission of increasing the number of culturally responsible black engineers. Before her role as Vice President, she served as the Lambda Delta Rho Chair where she facilitated the integration of black freshmen into the Georgia Tech campus.

Collaborating with academic departments and campus leadership to promote diversity and inclusion further fueled her passion for assisting students in their career development.
After finding Servant Leader Scholars through her college friend, Brianna Ambler, Najma was thrilled to join the team. Her commitment to helping others drives her to work with SLS. “I am thankful for those who supported me, and I aspire to assist individuals facing challenges I once encountered.”

JT is a senior studying Marketing at Georgia State University, set to graduate in May 2024. Upon graduation, she plans to work for an advertising agency. Born and raised in Dekalb County, JT was accustomed to the lack of resources and mentorship provided while growing up. Upon entering her first year of college at Kennesaw State University, she turned to community service to build a sense of belonging during the pandemic and found much more. It was in this capacity that JT learned of her ability to bridge the gap between her disparities and her desires. Not only did she hone her leadership skills, but she also gained the confidence to ask for and seek help whenever needed.
Transitioning to Georgia State University in her junior year, JT hit the ground running with her involvement in the Georgia State Chapter of Lifting Our Voices. Her involvement with L.O.V., as well as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, taught her that serving is a part of her purpose. As the current President of the Georgia State Chapter of L.O.V., JT helps lead her chapter in packing and distributing 500-700 meals a month to Atlanta's unhoused populations.
Today, JT is passionate about serving under Servant Leader Scholars because she understands that not every student should have to search for a helping hand. SLS grants her the opportunity to give back to the community she understands and empathizes with.
